Beverly Joyce Stancil was born on September 18, 1931, in Alameda, California, the second daughter of Herbert Andrew and Julia Lillian Derrington Stancil.

Her older sister was Patricia Ann Stancil Reed, and her younger sister was Barbara Marie Stancil Bradley. Beverly graduated from Melrose High School in Boston in 1947. She served in the Air Force during the Korean War, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Charles Leroy Wing was born on May 28, 1930, in Andover, Ohio, the son of the late Lyle Edward and Angeline Alice Hayes Wing. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1948 and became an Eagle Scout in 1944. Charles also served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He attended California State Teachers College of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania State College, majoring in physical education. In 1953, he was teaching atomic warfare at Lackland Air Base, where he likely crossed paths with Beverly.

Beverly and Charles were married on October 10, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas. They had two daughters: Bonny D. Noel of Athens, Alabama, and Susan Guyer of Albion, Pennsylvania, and were proud grandparents to four grandchildren. Beverly and Charles were also members of the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church.

Beverly retired from Westminster College, where she had worked as a secretary in the music department. Prior to that, she was an administrative assistant at Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care and also worked at the New Castle Company. Her diverse hobbies included scuba diving, camping, playing bingo, and raising quarter horses with her husband.

Charles retired as an engineer from the B&O Railroad.

Charles passed away at the age of 79 at Sharon Regional Hospital on October 20, 2009, in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents and was survived by his sister, Esther Kelly.

Beverly passed away at the age of 72 on the afternoon of April 15, 2004, at The Medical Center in Beaver. Full military honors were provided for her by West Middlesex Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233 and Wheatland American Legion Post 432.

Both Beverly and Charles are buried together in Neshannock Cemetery in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
