On October 16, 1953, Braxton married P. Jay Narron Hill. She was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Johnston County to Roney and Sallie Crocker Narron.

Their marriage spanned 55 years, a testament to their enduring commitment. They had two children: Karen Denise Hill, born in 1963, and Kevin Braxton Hill, born in 1965.

Braxton was a man of deep faith and served the Lord faithfully in various capacities. He was a beloved Sunday School teacher for the Junior Boys class at Moore's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. After he and his family moved to Wilson in 1967, they became dedicated members of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Over his 53 years of membership there, Braxton served in nearly every leadership role. He was particularly passionate about mentoring boys and young men, a dedication that led him to start both the Boys Club and the Men's Ministry at his church.

His wife also gave her life to the Lord. She gave her heart to the Lord at age 15 and touched many people with her beautiful singing voice. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Wilson for 42 years and faithfully served her church in many areas including Primary Class Sunday School teacher for over 20 years and Women's Ministry President.

After retirement, Braxton and P. Jay enjoyed extensive travels. They eventually spent most of their time at their home at Lake Gaston, where they found joy in fishing and cherishing moments with their children and grandchildren.

P. Jay Narron Hill passed away on March 4, 2009. She is buried in New Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Kenly.
