Michele Lane

April 8, 2010: "Two Over the Limit," our own Michele Sweesy Lane, of the George Ira Branch, and Sue Tobin, will be singing from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 7 at the Campbell Theater in Martinez, Calif. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 12, but Michele has arranged for family members to purchase tickets prior to the public sale by going to http://www.willowstheatre.com/Shows/2%20Over%20Limit.htm.

If you have trouble purchasing the tickets online you can call the box office at (925) 798-1300.

The Campbell Theater seats 150 at tables, complete with delicious food, a full bar before and during the performance.

MARCH 2010
Adam Dale

March 25, 2010: Adam G. Dale, a 2007 graduate of Ragsdale High School who is now in his junior year at N.C. State University majoring in Biological Sciences, attended the 84th Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Branch, Entomological Society of America, held in Atlanta, Ga., March 7-10. He presented research focusing on biological control of arthropod pests employing a method referred to as banker plant systems, research applicable to ornamental nurseries and the greenhouse crop industry. Adam was awarded the prestigious undergraduate research grant to support his research under the mentorship of Steven Frank Ph.D., Assistant Professor, NCSU Department of Entomology. Adam is the son of Donald and Katie Stancil Dale of Jamestown.

March 1, 2010: Tommy and Mary Alice celebrated birthdays recently at O'Charley's. It was Mary Alice's 80th birthday and Tommy's 56th. Both are of the George Ira Branch -- Mary Alice was married to Junior, son of Emmette; and Tommy is the son of Mary Alice and Junior, son of Emmette.
 

Kean Stancil

March 1, 2010: Kean Stancil, son of Mark and Cathy Stancil of the Henry Branch, has a football scholarship to play at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb.

Kean was a standout football and baseball player at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, Calif.

Feb. 13, 2010: PINEHURST, N.C. --This is a shot of Robin Stancil Berry's son Connor throwing a snowball up in the air and Montana, their 2 1/2-year-old Blue Heeler/Shep mix, jumping up to catch it. Montana loves to run, jump and catch things. He's as tall as Connor when he's up on his hind legs.

Robin Stancil Berry is from the Samuel Branch and the daughter of Chuck Stancil, and granddaughter of Elbert Stancil, the oldest son of Samuel. Robin has twin sons Connor and Collin, below.

Feb. 7, 2010: LAS VEGAS -- Members of the Henry Branch have an annual gathering in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. They meet at the Gameworks on the strip. This year the Henry Branch members were joined by six member of the George Branch for the party. Most of the group spent the weekend together, walking around the city and having a good time. Mark and Mike Stancil (Henry/James Oscar/George Guy/Ted) were the party organizers.

The Super Bowl was watched in a private room inside Gameworks.

Attending from Hawaii were Kathleen and Joseph Akau, Tita Kim and Mike and Deena Stancil. From Pleasanton, Calif., were Mark, Cathy, Kehau and Kean Stancil.

Members of the George Branch (George Ira/George Ralph/Renn) who came were Kip and Amalia Ortiz Hinton, who drove up from Inglewood, Calif. Ty Hinton flew in from Palatka, Fla., Ashley Hinton flew in from Pensacola, Fla., and Coree Hinton and Paul Videla flew in from Sarasota, Fla.
